The Countdown Begins...

Vaughn is home from his last week away working in Sutherlin.   Now starts the countdown.  We're looking at June 25th as a load up the moving truck, clean our house, stay one last night in Marysville and then leave for Sutherlin the next morning.

Our house looks so nice staged.  It's cleaner than it's been in a long time.  Still a few projects to complete, but we're getting there!

What's in a Name?

I realized I should have explained the name of our blog as I was telling Faith about it.  The "Stehr" part is pretty self-explanatory, but the "Well" has a couple meanings for us. 
1) When I introduce myself at the beginning of the school year, I tell my students that Stehr is pronounced just like "stair" or "stare".  This helps so that I don't get called Mrs. Steer.  I choose not to moo.  A stairwell requires some effort and climbing which is what I feel like we're doing right now.
2)  This is an emotional time for our family.  We are super excited about moving to Sutherlin but can't help thinking about what we leave behind.  One of my favorite hymns is "It Is Well With My Soul" so the "well" describes how even though we're feeling some turmoil, "it is well".

Since our family is embarking on a grand, new adventure, I thought it would be a great time to start a blog.  When we said yes to where we felt God was leading us, Sutherlin, Oregon, that meant diving into several projects to get our home of nearly 15 years ready to go on the market. 

Currently we (as in Vaughn) are painting most of the entire inside and finishing the rest of the outside.  Wednesday and Thursday of this last week, our family room and three bedrooms got new carpet.  After shuffling most of our possessions to alternate locations, we have a living room again.  It was the main storage area.

Vaughn heads to Sutherlin on Monday for a week so I'll be tackling some minor projects until he gets home.
